The work of Treaty Irani
Growing up a in family of 11 siblings, she was a self taught artist.
Her talents were recognised early, and developed as she began to grow
and learn her dept of her creativity.
She studied at the Sir J.J. School of Arts in Bombay (now Mumbai).
An early marriage put the brakes on her talent,
coupled with an unco-operative spouse
who placed restraints on exhibiting her paintings,
she was reduced to painting for her friends and family.
A few paintings survive.
She did not limit herself to painting
but ventured into doll making, mixed media painting, stained glass,
pottery making and finish-work, sculpture and more.
Her only regret being she was not able to, nor allowed/encouraged
to pursue her goals.
